If you want to get a refund for “unaffordable” payday loans, the first step is to complain to the lender. Often it’s simple as the lender has a Complaints section on their website, but some have been taken over or the website isn’t there anymore, so here is a list of their email addresses.
For all these emails put AFFORDABILITY COMPLAINT as the subject of the email.
If you haven’t already seen it, read and bookmark Can I get a payday loan refund?
That page has the template letters for complaints and it also looks at the most common things that happen, such as whether you should accept an offer or take the case to the Financial Ombudsman.

Payday lenders in administration or already liquidated
The following firms have disappeared, or have been dissolved (they no longer exist or have any assets) or the administrators are not accepting any more complaints, and I don’t think the Ombudsman is taking new complaints. If you have an existing claim in with the administrators you may get a small amount back:
- Access fast Money; Bonga Loans; Capfin (other brand names Ecash Window & EPDL); Cash Genie; Cash Choice; Cash Store; Cash365; Cheque Centre (the Loan Store & Square Today); CFO (Payday First, Flexible First, Money Resolve, Payday Advance); Dosh Loans; Different Money (My Mate); Easy Finance Club; Ferratum; Forces loans (V Gates); Handycash; Lifeboat loans; Liquid Advance; Microlend; the Money Shop (PaydayUK & Payday Express); Money In Advance; Mini Credit; NextCredit; Oakam; Open Door Loans; Payday First; Payday Overdraft; Peachy; Perfect Payday; Pick A Payday; Pixie; Pogo Loans; Prime Payday; Purple Payday; QuickQuid (Pounds to Pocket & OnStride); Quid24; Response Funding (Fancy a Payday); Safetynet Credit (Tappily); Satsuma; Smart Pig; Speed Credit; Speed-e-loans; Speedycash; Speedy Dosh; StepStone Credit; Sunny; Swift Sterling; Toothfairy; Trusted Quid; Txt Me Cash; Umbrella Loans; Uncle Buck; Vivus; Wageday Advance, Wonga; 1st Stop; 247 Moneybox; 321 Cash;
There are literally dozens of payday lenders that have gone without trace. The above are just some of the ones people have asked about. There are also lenders who were never authorised such as Loans4U / Loans4You who you can’t take a complaint to the ombudsman about.
The info here may not be up to date. so the safe thing is for you to look in the company’s website to see how to make a complaint or what form to complete if the lender is in administration.
If you can’t locate the website, talk to the Financial Ombudsman about these firms.

If there is a missing lender, or you think one of these addresses is wrong, please leave a Comment at the bottom of this article.
A good place to try to track down old lenders is the FCA Register, as this lists firms’ brand names as well as their company names and also sometimes shows details for firms that have ceased trading.
If you still aren’t having any luck, then try the Financial Ombudsman’s complaints line – they are very friendly!

Tom says
Hi all!
I emailed F Ombudsman for an advice with regards to possible claims from
“CFO Lending”, “UK Loan Store” and “Speedy Dosh”. No reply yet..
Is there any chance I would be able to contact/claim from them?
Many thanks. Tom
Sara (Debt Camel) says
CFO Lending is in administration and I haven’t heard of anyone getting a refund from them for a while.
Speedy Dosh is, I think, long dead and gone.
UK Loan Store I haven’t heard of, if it is this outfit https://www.fca.org.uk/news/warnings/loan-store-limited then that is bad news and there is no hope of redress.
|t’s usually best to phone the FOS with these queries.
Chris Mitchell says
Hi.
Could someone please tell me who are Cash on Go Ltd, I had a loan with these in 2013, but I cannot locate them?
Thanks
Chris
Sara (Debt Camel) says
They trade as Peachy.
david askew says
Hi all,
while going through my old bank statements I noticed that I took out an awful lot of loans with Pixie Loans.
has anyone else tried to reclaim from these??
I don’t think they exist any more
Sara (Debt Camel) says
I think Pixie are now dissolved and have no assets. If you want to check, talk to the Ombudsman.
david askew says
Hi,
has anyone had any luck with 1st Stop? I sent them an email as I had many loans with them several years ago, I got this response:
Dear Mr Askew
Thank you for your subject access request received on 4 October 2018. Unfortunately, we are unable to deal with your request for the following reason:
Any payday loans taken out on agreements issued by the following companies are not connected to the current 1 st Stop Group Ltd:
•1st Stop Recoveries Ltd
•1st Stop Unsecured Loans Ltd
•1st Stop Payday Loans Ltd
•1st Stop Funding Ltd
The above business are previous trading names for Clear Recoveries Ltd, who are no longer trading.
We have checked our system and we do not have any record of you taking out a Payday Loan with 1st Stop Group.
We only keep our records for six years from the end of an agreement, in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
Regards,
Data Protection Office Team

You could talk to the ombudsman but there may be nothing you can do here.

Really keen for any help on contacting the cheque centre. i was cruppled with debt and it took me years to sort it out after rolling over payday loans weekly for months and months. i know they are in liquidation but surely there is a contact for them in hope i could at least try? any advicevery much appreciated! thanks
Emma
Sara (Debt Camel) says
You can talk to the Ombudsman but so far as I know there is no money left for refunds.
r says
Hello,
Is pixie loans still trading?
Sara (Debt Camel) says
No, no chance of a refund.
Ian Bland says
I am wanting to put a complaint in against Vivus around affordability. However they don’t exist anymore. I have negative report off them on my credit file, however the balance has been cleared. Any ideas where to go here?
Sara (Debt Camel) says
I don’t think there is anything you can do :(
Gaz says
Good morning,
I’ve had a couple of successes with having loans cancelled and one small refund from Unclebuck. Does anyone have contact details for SquareToday? I know they have closed but none of their contact details for the parent company work?
Sara (Debt Camel) says
Sorry their parent company is Cheque Centre which has also closed. you can talk to the Ombudsman but I am not optimistic.
Nikki says
Has anyone made a claim against cfo? I have read they have gone bust and want to know if I can still put in a complaint against them? Thanks
Sara (Debt Camel) says
I haven’t heard of a success against them for a long while – I suggest you ask the Ombudsman if there is any point in making a claim.
samantha says
Having put claims in against a few now I am on a roll, although one complaint has been with the FOS for over 1 year now!
Toothfairy finance, anyone had any luck? my old emails are from toothfairy, paycheck credit & even marshall hoare baylift collections.. which I have emails from them all regarding my toothfairy loans. Can I get anything back from any of these? Is there an email for any?. thanks
Sara (Debt Camel) says
Toothfairy are in administration – I haven’t heard of anyone getting any money back for a long while.
Paycheck credit I think folded in 2012 – in that case, no chance of refunds.
SB says
Hi Sara and everybody,
I am finally getting my act together and have got bank statements from years back. On one of my statements, I have receipts from PACNET SERVICES LTD and I’m ashamed to say that I don’t know whether this is a PDL or a betting company. I was betting and in poor mental health at the time and have no idea who this company is.
Does anybody else have any idea? It was in 2015.
Thanks,
SB
Sara (Debt Camel) says
Pacnet was a payment services company. At time used by both Lending Stream, QuickQuid and possibly others. Usually to pay money to you, so if there are payments out that don’t seem to correspond to an amount borrowed, these could be what you were loaned.
SB says
Thank you Sara :-)
Jake hills says
Does anyone know if I can still put in a complaint against cfo lending?
Jen says
I eventually found communication with them earlier last month, got this sent by e.mail. Sara do you think it’s worth filling in or forget about it, it was on my to do list nxt week cause I’ve a few days off work. Or am I wasting my time.
Please find attached proof of debt form.
Please be advised there will not be a dividend in the matter.
Kind Regards
Sara (Debt Camel) says
The Administrators sound convinced there will not be any money to pay refunds. I assume you don’t have a balance owing on a CFO loan?
Jen says
Honestly I haven’t got a clue don’t think so, I was in a mess a few years ago, don’t know if they got paid or not, these 1s were all over 6 yrs, just don’t know if I should take time to go through stuff to find out loans or do you think they might still have a wee bit to give back
Sara (Debt Camel) says
No I don’t think they will have any money left. Administrators are completely straight when they say there won’t be a dividend for unsecured creditors. The only possible reason to put in.a Proof of Debt form is as a marker that you should have a got a refund in case you are later chased by Lantern, the debt collector that has bought the book of outstanding loans. If an outstanding loan was over 6 years old it may well be statute barred anyway.
ShellC says
Hi, does anyone have any experience with claiming against the 1st stop group? The loan was paid in by 1st stop payday loans however the repayments were made to 1st stop home loans, now 1st stop home loans still exist however they are claiming that 1st stop payday loans was never part of their group, how does that make sense?
Sara (Debt Camel) says
I suggest you talk to the ombudsman
Dale says
Has there ever been an outcome to this? I’ve a case with the ombudsman open regarding these at the minute
Sara (Debt Camel) says
No one has come back in this – could you?
Dale says
Ombudsman wrote to them and they never wrote to me. They had already issued a final response to me before which I provided to the ombudsman. So I don’t know why they wrote to 1st stop anyway. Still no movement, and I’ve provided the ombudsman with everything I have, statements, loan agreements etc.
Joe Wightman says
Has anyone heard from Credio.co.uk? Cashbridge corporation ltd. I opened a complaint in 2016 with them, since then they’ve ignored all comunication from myself and the FOS. The FOS ruled in my favour but no one can get hold of them! Including the FCA. There website seems to have been shut down last month as well. Just auto email responses and no phone line.
Sara (Debt Camel) says
Very small lender. Last report of anyone getting a refund was more than a year ago.
Lee sharratt says
Hello. Loans to go Sara? I can’t find the email, are they owed by another company
Sara (Debt Camel) says
from the complaints page on their website: ps@loans2go.co.uk
This was probably a large loan or a logbook loan? If so follow the template letter here: https://debtcamel.co.uk/refunds-large-high-cost-loans/
Lee sharratt says
Hello. Just two loans , few hundred pounds, over 18 months, not a log book loan
Sara (Debt Camel) says
ok, well with only two loans, if they are small and over an 18 month period, this may not be an easy complaint, but good luck!
James Lewis says
Good afternoon guys,
I took out 10 loans with cash4uloans over a 20-24 month period totaling around 7k (including interest). Has anybody had any experience with these guys, can recall their customer service being appalling and quite aggressive.
Sara (Debt Camel) says
Do you mean cash4unow ?
James Lewis says
Apologies, i do Sara.
Sara (Debt Camel) says
oh good! Then the address for complaints to them is in the above list.
They are a small lender so not mentioned a lot, but other people have said they aren’t nice to deal with. During your complaint, don’t talk on the phone, keep everything by email. Don’t try to negotiate, go straight to the Ombudsman at the end of 8 weeks if they haven’t made you a good offer. If they suggest an offer and ask you to call them, just reply by email asking if that is their final offer as if it is you will be going to the Ombudsman.
Ignore any suggestions that you lied on your loan applications – they seem to say that to a lot of people. 10 loans is a lot of borrowing, they should have realised you were in trouble whatever your applications said.
If you remember their customer service as being aggressive, does this mean you were late making payments or missed some? If so, that is a strong indication that they should not have given you any more loans. Add this point to the standard complaint letter and also if you feel they pressured you into making repayment you could not afford.
James Lewis says
Superb advice, thanks Sara..its really appreciated.
steve says
Hi Sarah,
I have a loan outstanding with Minicredit, now (administration) I raised a complaint as its now with a debit collector. I apparently complained to Ombudsman about the loan a few year ago and I didn’t win the case ( I cannot remember the details). . Its important to note that on the 04/06/2015, £421.50 of charges and interest applied to your loan by Mini credit were written off as a gesture of goodwill in relation to your complaint raised. thus £615 remains outstanding but never received any communication. Kapama Limited has logged a default against me with the balance owed. I had a final response as I complained to them recently (forgot) about the other complaint and raised it with the regulator, with the above details, will FOS tell me to go away or will they entertain the recent complaint?
Sara (Debt Camel) says
This bit “Its important to note that on the 04/06/2015, £421.50 of charges and interest applied to your loan by Mini credit were written off as a gesture of goodwill in relation to your complaint raised.” sounds like you have been told this by someone – who and when?
I can’t really guess what will happen unless you say what your previous complaint was about.
steve says
Thanks Sara,
This was expressed to me by Mini credit. I don’t ever remember making a complaint to FOS but it is possible. The company dealing with the debt advised me in their final response. As it was back then, I wondered if the rules has changed, resulting in a further outcome. I have received a response from FOS this morning to tell me that the Mini Credit are not in operation and that the complaint may take months. They are making the assumption that money being paid to me, but when I still owe a balance
Steve says
Hi Folks,
I am going through bank statements, its something I don’t do, however I have just now came across a number of payments to a company called
CAPITAL FINANCE ONE CD 0158
Does anyone know who this company is? do you have their contact details or email address or website
I think this is different to the credit card company Capital one.
Any help would be great
Thanks
Mike w says
Yes they were a payday loan company, now defunct I believe. A quick search for capital finance one brought up their details
Steve says
Yes I googled the details but it’s coming up as Money plus, do I now need to raise a complaint to them?
Mike w says
No, money plus are a debt management company who want to take a cut of any complaint. Read the page properly.
As far as I’m aware CFO are now bust, you won’t be able to get redress from them
Steve says
OH no, Is there any point me raising a complaint to FOS?
Sara (Debt Camel) says
CFO went into administration in April 2017. Late last year the administrators said there was no more money for refunds. Were all your loans to them repaid?
Katherine says
Hi
Do you have any contact detail for Tower Capital?
Many thanks
Sara (Debt Camel) says
No, the company was dissolved in 2015.
James says
Hi,
I took out a payday loan with a company called ‘Get a Payday Loan Fast’, however I can not find a trace of these online now or who may own them?
Does anyone have any information on this would be very grateful
Sara (Debt Camel) says
I suspect they have disappeared a long while ago.
Stuart says
I was under the impression EPDL (renamed ecashwindow) was in administration. This is not the case. I’ve just had a Final Response offer of £1000 which I’ve accepted today. Not sure how long they take to pay out?
Sara (Debt Camel) says
Thanks for the info, I will update the article above. No one has reported a payout for a while so no idea on timescales.
Stuart says
I received the funds in my account the following day. They were actually one of the quickest and easiest to deal with. Their final response does note that the business may be going into liquidation in the near future so for anyone else who had loans with them best be quick.
Will says
I had a EPDL case at the ombudsman. They prioritised it because the company are going into administration. Adjudicator found in my favour on all 4 loans and money in my account within 2 weeks. This happened in December.
Stuart says
I almost didn’t bother emailing a complaint to them as I thought my loans were so old and thought they had already gone into liquidation. Was very pleasantly surprised with their prompt offer and payment. Can’t stress enough for anyone who had loans with them to complain quickly. I received £1000 from them.
Lisa says
Hi Sara
Have emailed myjar and sunny on 3 times in the past month to start an affordability complaint. Myjar email bounces back and sunny haven’t responded. Are there any other email addresses that I can email them on.
Thank
Sara (Debt Camel) says
Myjar seem to have changed their complaints email – try generalcomplaints@myjar.com
Sunny haven’t – if you phone them up they should be able to confirm they have your complaint.
SM says
Hi Sara,
I hope you can help me with my situation like you’ve helped so many others. Over the last 12 months, I’ve gotten myself into a pickle with Sunny. I’m very ashamed to say I’ve taken 13 loans with them (somehow that’s more than one loan per month!!!!!). I have never missed a payment or incurred any fees, but honestly I am sinking! I can feel the whole situation spiralling. They are the only lender I have a payday loan with and I’m starting to feel uneasy.
I want to do something about it (maybe freeze the interest and negotiate a single sum each month until I’m square?), but I’m concerned because:
– they ask me every month if I can afford it and I click yes in desparation (Will this limit what I can negotiate with them?)
– I’m not sure if I can legally write to them directly or should I go through someone?
– I’m not sure if I should be claiming anything from them at this stage? I would be happy just to work something out with them… do you think this is even possible without incurring payment fees and (further) destroying my credit rating?
Any advise you have would be very welcome.
Thank you!!!!
Sara (Debt Camel) says
” I click yes in desparation” yes that is what everyone does. It won’t affect your claim – the fact is that Sunny should have noticed that you kept borrowing again and again and either refused to lend or asked you for more infomration to check the loans were really affordable.
“I’m not sure if I can legally write to them directly or should I go through someone?” definitely do it yourself! The template letters are over on this page https://debtcamel.co.uk/payday-loan-refunds/ which talks you through the whole process. go to a Claims Firm and they will ask you the questions and send off the same sort of email and charge you 25% or more for doing that!
“I’m not sure if I should be claiming anything from them at this stage?” oh yes, 13 loans in 12 months sounds like a good claim. Even if you only get the last few refunded, it could make a huge difference to you. Put in a complaint – as a part of which you can say you would like a payment arrangement – and cancel the CPA to Sunny with your bank.
“I would be happy just to work something out with them… do you think this is even possible without incurring payment fees and (further) destroying my credit rating?” if you ask for a payment arrangement, that will harm your credit record. If you put in an affordability complaint and also ask for a payment arrangement, then if you win the complaint any negative marks are removed from your credit record. So this is actually a safer way to proceed.
Of course I can’t guarantee that you will win your complaint, but it sounds like a good case. And you have to end this cycle of reborrowing because it’s costing you a fortune and must be very stressful.
Shane says
Hi Sara,
Whilst looking back through old bank statements online I’ve noticed payments to a company called:-
paydayoverdraft.com
Can you tell me if this company is still trading please and if there’s an email address to make contact with them.
I came across your site by accident and am so glad I did. I’ve already had repayments from The Cash Shop £500 and 1 Month Loans £1750 by sending off your template letter. I’m still waiting on a few more but it has helped me no end – so a BIG thank you from me.
Sara (Debt Camel) says
That was a brand name of WPPL who went under in 2016 when the FCA banned their director because of forged documents… I don’t think think you have any chance of a refund from those loans. Good luck with the others!
Shane says
Hi Sara,
Whilst going back through my bank statements I’ve noticed payments to the following:-
PRIME PAYDAY UK and
http://WWW.PAYDAYOVERDRAFT.COM
Could you please tell me if these companies are still in existence and if you have any email addresses for them please?
Thanks for your help.
S
Sara (Debt Camel) says
no, they have gone.
Ryan says
I have found loans on my old bank statements from a company called 1 month loan.
I contacted Sunny as instructed above who I phoned and was told to contact Elevate Credit regarding the loans at the following email address:
customerrelations@elevatecredit.co.uk
I contacted them on 06/03 but have yet to have any response and have just chased.
Shane says
Hi Ryan,
I had numerous loans with the same company “1 Month Loans”. I emailed the “elevate credit” address you mentioned and received a very quick reply and early settlement. Hope you get sorted.
Cheers S
Ryan says
Hi Shane,
Thanks for that – gives me hope!!
Was that recent or a while back?
Cheers
Shane says
Hi Ryan,
Yes the initial complaint was made by myself using Sara’s template on the 9th Jan 2019. Acknowledgment of complaint received 15th Jan, 2019. Further emails sent by “1 Month Loan” (Elevate Credit) on 19th Feb and payment in my account on the 25th Feb, 2019. I appreciate each individual case is different but I found them very efficient and good to deal with. Hope you get sorted soon. Good luck! S
Ryan says
That’s good to hear and glad you got sorted quickly.
I’ve only asked for the SOA at the moment, but not had an email saying they received my request, I am waiting for bank to send me old statements from the relevant time period so once I get them I will put my claim in.
Thanks again.
Shane says
Hi Ryan,
I only sent them (1 Month Loans) two emails in total and didn’t send them any bank statements. Just for your info.
Cheers S
Ryan says
Hi,
Thanks for your advice, just accepted a refund of £525 from loans I received over 7 years ago!!!
Cheers
Shane says
Glad you finally got sorted Ryan. All the best to you fella.
Abdullah Iz says
Hi Sarah,
Any news from Cheque Centre? Are they completely gone?
Sara (Debt Camel) says
I havne’t heard of anyone getting a refund for a long time. You should talk to the Ombudsman to see if there is any point in pursuing this.
Shane says
Hi Sara,
I know a few people have enquiried about The Cheque Centre recently. Just to let yourself and others know I’ve just received this response. Think I’ve missed the boat on this one:-
We were appointed Administrators of Cheque Centres Limited on 31 August 2017. The case is now being brought to a close and I’m afraid the deadline has long passed for any creditors to submit a claim.

Hello
Going through my credit report and sending out emails (thank you so much for the advise and templates – so helpful).
Anyone have any luck with Cash ASAP and Ferratum? I checking my report, I had a total of around 18 with ASAP and around 7 with Ferratum over the last 4-5 years and wondered if it was worthwhile applying (currently still have a loan with them but only 1 payment left).
So far have emailed Satsuma, 247, payday express and Uncle Buck. Still to email Lending Stream and Myjar (whom I currently have a loan with). Also got claims in With WDA and Wonga but not holding my breath on those 2!
Also have had 2 loans with Likely Loans and wondered if anyone had success with them?
Sara (Debt Camel) says
It’s not a question of “having luck” with a lender, what matters is how often you borrowed from them. People have won complaints against CashASAP and Ferratum just like any other payday lenders.
Likely Loans, I suggest you follow the slightly different approach described on this page: https://debtcamel.co.uk/refunds-large-high-cost-loans/
marty says
Good luck with lending stream they are hilarious, have me redress on loans 1 to 5 but deemed 6 and 7 affordable cowboys don’t ever phone them either as 99 percent of the time they put you on hold for ages.
Diddy says
Having read the posts on hear about lending stream, I gather it’s going to,be difficult with them but will try anyway. Have emailed them all and prefer dealing by email for the paper trail, won’t be phoning unless absolutely necessary 😀

Hi Sara,
I’m currently in the process of cleaning up my credit file and have a big one of £1,041 from minicredit – I called up Kapama and they advised the debt was sold to them, the original value of the debt is £200. I dont mind paying back at all – I just dont think the inflated interest is fair. the steps I have taken so far is using the resolver(moneysupermarket) to create a complaint. Is this the correct thing to do – what do you recommend for the best steps?
Cheers
Sam
Sara (Debt Camel) says
yes that’s right – and take to the Financial Ombudsman if Kapama don’t offer to resolve.
Have you told Kapama you are happy to pay the £200?
May says
Hi i am in the process of chasing cash generator for loans from a few years ago.
They are really giving me the run around and state tgey have no record of my custom as it was all transferred to a london company a few years ago. I have sent an email to this company with no joy as yet.
Can anyone advice on the next steps please.
Sara (Debt Camel) says
Can you talk to the Financial Ombudsman about this.
S says
Hi May,
I’m in a similar position with Cash Generator. The shop I was regularly using has now closed which doesn’t help matters. Could I ask which email address you have been using please?
Many thanks,
S
May says
I initially sent my first email to the general complaints. After much forward and backwarding a general manager got back to me. His email is lombardy@cashgenerator.co.uk he directed me on friday to R capital with the address 24 Old Bond Street

Hi
I had several loans from a company called Safeloans (sister company of UK Credit). UK Credit took over all the accounts of Safeloans and I made an arrangement with UK Credit and paid it off in instalments. I assume that I cannot claim against them as Safeloans no longer exists? I contacted UK Credit and got this response –
“Yes, Smart Loan no longer trades. This was a smaller sister company of UK Credit under the same umbrella. UK Credit took hold of all the accounts/books. Whilst you are well within your right to seek independent advice, there will be no redress given on this account. You signed a legally binding contract knowing what agreement you were entering into.Smart Loan send letters out advising all accounts being transferred to UK Credit.Throughout 2016 you were in regular contact with us acknowledging and accepting responsibility for the debt and subsequently entered into an arrangement with me directly to make repayments of £125 per month at the end of each month.”
I assume they are correct in what they said?
Update – so far have had 2 results £832.62 from trusted quid and £731.09 from Nextcredit. Step 2 has been sent to MyJar, 247 and Peachy. Step 1 has been sent to Satsuma, Payday Express, Express Finance (all acknowledged). Also sent and haven’t heard yet from Everyday, CashASAP, Lending Stream, Uncle Buck, ECashWindow, Cashfloat and Ferratum.
Obviously still early days but still am hopeful…
Sara (Debt Camel) says
I suggest you talk to the Financial Ombudsman. Safeloans is registered as a trading name of SLL https://register.fca.org.uk/ShPo_FirmDetailsPage?id=001b000000kghy7AAA not of UK Credit (https://register.fca.org.uk/ShPo_FirmDetailsPage?id=001b000001m0Tq3AAE) so I am not sure what you need to do.

Thank you, will do.

hi All, just put in 3 more complaints and waiting on QQ to pull their fingers out.
i have come across a name on my statement taking money from me of “w/loan processing” would anyone know who this refers to so I can go after them
Mark flint says
Hi has anyone recieved any refund from 118money?
Mark
Sara (Debt Camel) says
yes quite a few people! But they do reject good cases sometimes so send it straight to the Ombudsman if they refuse. The page to look at is this one: https://debtcamel.co.uk/refunds-large-high-cost-loans/ as the procedure is a bit different from payday loans.
Mori says
Hi Sara,
Has anyone complained to one of the ‘big four’ over mis-selling?
To give context, during the mid to late 90’s (when my salary was c.£16K per annum and struggling financially), Lloyds TSB approved and issued me with the following credit: Credit Card of £5,500, Overdraft of £7,000 and a Personal Loan of £13,000.
I should never had been given this amount of credit especially from the same provider during the same period and to date I still bear the burden and cost of this.
Is there anything I can do?
Sara (Debt Camel) says
Yes, but you have no chance of winning affordability complaints about lending decisions in the 90s.
Mori says
Thank you Sara,
Would a PPI claim dating back to the 90’s also have no chance or is that more plausible?
Sara (Debt Camel) says
PPI claims are much more plausible! Lloyds was one of the main PPI culprits, so you may well have had PPI on the credit card or loan. Send in the complaint asap, I always suggest people use Resolver https://www.resolver.co.uk/rights-guide/ppi-reclaim as it is free even if you win.
Mori says
Thanks again Sara i will let you all know how that goes!
Mark Flint says
Also i have just emailed the template to all my payday loan companies and peachy have replied asking for bank statements and payslips. Do i have to send them this as im not sure on the dates i took the loans out with them.
Regards mark
Sara (Debt Camel) says
No need to ever send payslips. You could say you will send the bank statements after they send you the list of loans as you are unsure of the dates.

Hi Sara,
I’ve tried to raise a complaint against cash
I had multiple ‘cheque cashing’ loans with them..I’ve had a response…
They say there is no redress as the original owners went into administration and the company was bought out… there email is as follows…
“If you check the paperwork that you have I am sure that it would be in the name of Cash Generator Ltd
Cash Generator Ltd was purchased more than 6 years ago by an american company at the same time as buying the
Cheque Centres in the uk.
The american company folded both company in the uk soon after.
So sadly both companies went into Administration leaving them with no liabilities.
Generator…”
So do I accept that this is it…?
Or do I take it to the ombudsman?
Many Thanks
Vicki
Sara (Debt Camel) says
I think you should phone the ombudsman and discuss this with them.

Hi wonder if anyone can help I’ve put in complaints to 5 company’s and got reply to say received the complaint well everyone apart from THL as anyone else had this problem? I used the link on the site for them.
Mark Tribe says
I contacted THL on 04/03/2019 and had an initial response saying I would hear from the Complaints Team within 4 weeks and a Final Response within 8 weeks. On 20/05/2019 I emailed a ‘reminder’ and within 24 hours got a response referring to my loans (with incorrect loan dates….out by a year) saying they were not irresponsible,in their lending, no explanation and appears to not having been investigated at all and (their words) ‘let this be an end to the matter’. Alas not for them. I have escalated it to the Financial Ombudsman.

Hi am looking to start making my claims of payday loans Interest, Do you have a Template for stage one ( asking for Information from the payday companies) ?

Everything, including templates, is over on the main payday loan refund page: https://debtcamel.co.uk/payday-loan-refunds/

Pound Access
Capital Cash
Cash Call Finance
Cash Bob
I know Bongaloans, CFO Lending, Cash Genie and Quid 24 have gone, am I really stuffed with those claims? And Microlend and Toothfairy, if I haven’t yet submitted a claim does that mean no point now as in liquidation?
Have settled Mr Lender and Safe Lons, Peachy just a query re how much interest, partial offers from My Jar and Payday Express, Cash Converters at FOS, WDA, Wonga and EPDL claims in, H and T ongoing, Cash Generators and Albermarle and Bond to be submitted……

Hi There – I had several loans with Cashbob in 2012
I have tried to email their old address – but get an un-delverable
Do you know where I could contact them?
Sara (Debt Camel) says
sorry never heard of them
Angela says
Has anybody complained against Peachy?
Sara (Debt Camel) says
Yes, lots of wins!
NJG says
Had a payout today, countered their first offer then haggled re interest, settled on £606 which was interest on loans 4 through 9 plus approx half the interest I would have received. I wasn’t willing to wait for FOS to maybe add £100 or so. Apart from waiting 7 weeks for their response wasn’t painful, in fact they were easy to deal with
D says
HI
Does anyone have contact details for Trusted Quid, I’ve just spoke to FOS and they said the company may have stopped trading but has not gone into liquidation on their records.
thanks
Sara (Debt Camel) says
They are not in administration or liquidation according to Companies House records. Try gmuir@trustedquid.co.uk, if that bounces back write to Grahm Muir at the address on here https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/07112031/officers
Des says
Hi has any one has any luck against cash generator. The walsall branch are not helpful and report that my old account records are gone as the company went in to adminstration etc etc.
Lisa C says
Cheque Centre complaints were being handled by their new owners Quick Loans. We were advised to write to them.
Sara (Debt Camel) says
Who suggested this?
Jo says
Has anyone had any luck contacting 1monthloan? The list suggested to try Sunny Loans but when I spoke to their customer service centre and they searched on my details they said they have no record of my account and didn’t seem to know who 1monthloan were?
Sara (Debt Camel) says
I suggest you go back to them and point out 1 month loan is listed as one of their brand names on the FCA’s interim permission register for IP594425.
Jo says
ah brilliant, thanks Sara will do!
Will says
They are lying to you. I had a refund from sunny in relation to a 1 month loan. Got it fairly quickly too.
Jo says
Thanks Will that’s encouraging, I’ll persevere!
PF says
Hi all,
Can anyone provide any details of dealing with the Loan Store Ltd?
They seem to have a website that is still active but are now brokers?
According to my bank statements In 2012, I had a number of loans with them but resolver doesn’t list them as a company you can make a complaint against?
Any info is appreciated – thanks
Sara (Debt Camel) says
The website you have may have been one with loan-store in it? I am not giving a link as it is a website of an unauthorised lender – the FCA permission number and Companies House number are both false. If you borrowed from them, there is no way of getting any compensation.
But it is more likely you borrowed from a lender who used to use that as a trading name. Unfortunately there are several of them… and some of them have gone bust… do any of the names on this list ring a bell? https://register.fca.org.uk/shpo_searchresultspage?search=loan+store&TOKEN=3wq1nht7eg7tr
Do you have any emails relating to these loans?
PF says
Hi Sara, I can’t locate any emails but i do remember using a company from Edinburgh and have a feeling it was one of the companies in the link that are no longer authorised, oh well another one that got away.
My bank statements show so many companies that are no longer around – CFO, Tower Capital, Intime Finance, Cash Genie and of course Wonga and Wageday Advance (hopefully i will get something from the last two – albeit pennies in the pound).
Do you know anything about Nine Regions? Loans2Go have advised that although they acquired the name Logbook Loans, the original company are in administration with PRAC – do you think i should follow up with them?
Thank you for all your help.

Any point trying to complain about mini credit ?

Hi Sarah
I just wanted to ask if you’ve heard of two dodgy companies called wedotsavings and sunnysocial?
I was desperate a few months ago for a loan, and found one through a broker (not sure what it was called) and the following month I noticed payments coming out of my bank account for wedotsavings and sunnysocial.
I managed to get their phone numbers from my bank and ask how they’d got my bank details, and they said I’d agreed to sign up with them when I took out my loan on the loan brokerage site.
This must have been in the terms and conditions or in very small print somewhere, as I never saw or agreed to signing up to these companies.
I just wanted to know if this is common practice?!
Thanks
Louise says
I’ve had that twice, I think one was called my social impact. I phoned the bank and they put a stop to any future payments being taken but couldn’t do anything about the ones already taken.
I sent a strongly worded email to my social impact stating that they’re scamming vulnerable people and that I didn’t read anything specific in the terms and conditions and they agreed to refund me so it might be worth a go
Marie says
Thanks Louise, I’ve sent them both strongly worded emails. I can’t believe they’re allowed to get away with it!
Sara (Debt Camel) says
wedotsavings – is what wedosavings?
if any money has been taken out of your bank account by a direct debit you did not authorise, you can ask for a refund from your bank.
if it was taken out by a CPA, tell your bank to cancel the CPA and ask the firm for a refund.
If you remember the name of a the loan broker, send them a written complaint and ask them to help you get your money back.
But that loan … it was probably unaffordable, put in a complaint!
Rich says
Hi. I only just found out about the money shop by chance yesterday. I took several loans from them.
I was taking loan after loan for many years. I had other multiple loans with quickquid, payday uk, wageday advance, mr lender and others too. I think the time frames was from maybe 2007-2015/2016. What can I do if I can’t remember all the companies I took loans from? I would estimate the total amount paid out to me in loans was £50-100,000 over this period of time, so you can just imagine how much interest I have paid. Every month I was taking loans to pay loans and was always skint. The ones I do remember I will use the contact details I’ve seen on this site, but I’m wondering about the others… I don’t want any of these bastards to get away with it, even if the payout is a pittance, it would be hugely symbolic for me. Thanks if anyone can advise 👍
Sara (Debt Camel) says
Of the lenders you mention:
Money Shop & payday UK are part of the same group – you are only going to get a very small amount back from this. See https://debtcamel.co.uk/money-shop-to-close-two-million-customers-will-be-informed/ for the situation. No point in putting in a complaint at the moment but you may want to vote to approve the Scheme in a few weeks time.
Wageday Advance is in administration – see https://debtcamel.co.uk/wageday-advance-wda-administration-sale-morses-club/ and you must submit a claim on their form by end August.
Mr Lender and QQ are still going. Send them a complaint right away, see https://debtcamel.co.uk/payday-loan-refunds/, the template there kicks off the complaint and asks for a list of your loans.
See https://debtcamel.co.uk/find-out-payday-lenders/ for ideas about how to trace other lenders. But reading down the list of lenders in the article above may jog your memory? It is not worth bothering to make claims against lenders you only had one or two loans from. You also need to get your bank statements going as far back as possible… if you don’t have bank statements for the period of lending, it probably isn’t worth complaining unless you had borrowed from them consistently for more than 6 months in a row.
John smith says
Hi, have to say this site is awesome and like many others I’ve started my journey towards recovering my finances. I took out numerous short term loans from multiple lenders back to back until it all spiralled out of control and I ended up in a debt management plan.
I’ve started making complaints against all the lenders and have had some success. Provident finance (satuma loans) wrote off my outstanding balance completely, a couple others have refunding all the interest and charges which had been added and have allowed me to just pay back the initial principle which I borrowed minis what I’ve already paid.
I had also taken out many loans with pounds2pocket, quick quid and Avant credit solutions who are all the same company. Initially I made 3 complaints against each one and then eventually received a settlement offer via the pounds2pocket complaint which I felt fell short of what I expected. Reading the small print in their final response letter I also noticed they tried to say that offer was a final offer for all 3 complaints which is no where near what it should be. I’ve escalated all 3 to the ombusman as it stands.
Has anyone had any success dealing with these 3 lenders as they seem like the only ones so far that are not willing to make a reasonable offer.
Sara (Debt Camel) says
“pounds2pocket, quick quid and Avant Credit solutions who are all the same company” QQ and PRP are brands of Casheuronet. Avant Credit, so far as I know, is owned by an entirely different company.
Paul Wakeman says
Hi,
I took out an original loan with a company called Batten Finance in 2005 and then fell in to the trap of borrowing etc. Since 2005 as well as being called Batten Finance they have also been known as Cash Injectors and last year they were bought out by Valley Finance. As I’ve got claims in against Provident, Safety Net Credit, 247 MoneyBox, Lending Stream and Amigo Loans at present figured I may as well add these. What I would like to know is as Valley Finance bought out the Companies would be they be liable for the historic debt (ie if I wrote to them asking for a record of all the loans would they have them?) Thanks
Sara (Debt Camel) says
Not come across them. You can put in a complaint to find out. or talk to the Ombudsman.
Paul Wakeman says
Hi Sara,
Thanks for the advice. Have spoken to the OmBudsman this morning who advised that all of my records should have gone across to Valley Finance and I should just put in a complaint as normal asking for all account information etc and then take it from there. So, another one to add to the list! :)
Sara (Debt Camel) says
go for it!
Jonny H says
Do the P2P short term lenders such as The Money Platform (I’ve noticed you’ve added their information so I assume so) and We Lend Us / Fund Ourselves deal with affordability complaints? I assume they do but just not sure how they’re going to react or respond as they only take a small cut.
Sara (Debt Camel) says
Some complaints are in progress, I am not sure I have seen the final decisions on any of them. I suggest you put a complaint in!
Jonny H says
Great, I have just put mine in. As they’re fairly new lenders, do you think they’ll deny the complaint? Or do you not have much experience with these ones?
I’ll update with my response. TMP advise on their website they’ll email back within five working days and then if not happy with the response it’ll go to the complaints manager and then CEO..
Sophie says
Hello, can you advise if it would work to complain to Opos/Kapama (Administrators of Minicredit which went bust) ? I still have to pay them for an outstanding balance from a payday loan with minicredit and they just chased me the other day for an apparent missed payment.
kevin says
Hi… I wonder if someone could help… I had a number of payday loans some years back and most I have put to the ombudsman. However, I have multiple payments to an FML collections… I cannot recall if this is an actual payday lender back in the day or if it was a debt collector… I would appreciate it if anyone could confirm.. cheers
Mike says
Has anyone had any experience regarding a complaint with mykredit?… they’ve refused my affordability claim. I’ve borrowed with them every month since DEC-17 so I’d think I have a chance of a claim if I go to the FOS.
Sara (Debt Camel) says
sounds like a good complaint to me! They are a pretty small lender so not mentioned much.
Mike says
Thanks Sara…. I’ll log a claim with the FOS and see what they say :-)
