Payments – UPDATE – 25 April 2022
Administrators have started sending emails to everyone with an upheld claim telling them what they will be paid.
“The Joint Administrators are now in a position to declare a first and final dividend of 53.5p in the £”
The average claim value is c £1,700. Someone with that claim value will get a payout of about £910.
The payout details are given in the email:
- This will be paid over the next two weeks.
- If the administrators couldn’t validate your banking details, it will be sent by cheque. I don’t know how the administrators will “validate” your details.
- If you used a claims company, the money will be paid to them.
- Most people are not having any deduction for tax paid to HMRC, so there is no need to reclaim anything.
Credit records
The administrators may decide to :
– remove any negative marks on your credit record
– delete all loans that were upheld
– delete all your loans.
I don’t know what they have chosen to do – if people can check and report in the comments when they see a change, that would be great.
How much your credit score will change will depend on whether there were any negative marks. If you want to get a mortgage, you would like as many payday loans gone as possible, even if they were repaid on time and not hurting your credit score.
In a few months when the administrators no longer talk to the CRAs you can ask for any remaining loans to be “suppressed” so other lenders can’t see them. See https://debtcamel.co.uk/correct-credit-records-lender-administration/ but it is too soon to do that now.
QuickQuid went into administration in October 2019
CashEuroNet (CEU), which owns the QuickQuid, Pounds To Pocket and On Stride brands, stopped giving loans and went into administration on 25 October 2019.
I will be talking about QuickQuid (QQ) rather than CashEuroNet as it is the more familiar name. Everything here also applies to loans from Cashruronet’s other brands, Pounds To Pocket and On Stride.
Grant Thornton were appointed as Administrators. They set up a page about Redress Complaints – this is their term for people who have asked for a refund because they were given unaffordable loans.
Background to the QuickQuid Administration
QuickQuid was one of the “Big Three” payday lenders in Britain, starting out in 2007.
After Wonga and the Money Shop Group had all stopped lending and gone bust over the last fifteen months, QuickQuid was left as the largest UK payday lender.
QuickQuid had well over a million customers. When it went into administration there were c. 500,000 customers with outstanding loans.
Many of these customers had prolonged borrowing from QQ. They either rolling loans over or repaid one loan but were left so short of money that they had to borrow again.
These customers have good reasons to win an affordability complaint and get a refund of the interest they paid.
Affordability complaints started on a small scale in 2015 and increased in the next few years.
In 2018, complaints going to the Financial Ombudsman (FOS) jumped with the involvement of Claims Companies and QuickQuid became the most complained about firm to FOS, excluding PPI complaints.
For a long time QQ refused to refund interest on any loans taken more than 6 years before or where the loans were given in 2015 or afterwards. This resulted in a huge backlog of claims at the Financial Ombudsman, where QQ had made very poor offers to customers and then rejected an adjudicator decision.
In late July 2019, QQ agreed to accept several thousand FOS complaints it had previously rejected.
By accepting the FOS decisions on loans over 6 years, long chains of borrowing, and loans taken after 2015, the scale of QQ’s likely future liability for refunds will have become clear to the company.
After failing to persuade the FCA that a Scheme of Arrangement was appropriate, Enova, CEU’s large and profitable US parent, decided to close the UK business, blaming the UK regulatory environment.
How could the regulators let this happen?
This is an excellent question… Stella Creasy, MP called for an inquiry into the FCA over Wonga and QuickQuid.
I have looked at the question here: More payday lenders go under in 2019 – was anything learned from Wonga?
What has happened in the administration
Customers with a valid claim for a refund are “unsecured creditors”. This includes:
- any refunds that were in progress after an amount was agreed or a Final Decision from a FOS Ombudsman (FOS);
- complaints that were underway at QQ or FOS when QQ went under;
- any new complaints sent to the Administrators.
All complaints at FOS legally had to stop and were been passed back to the Administrators. It isn’t possible to send any new complaints to FOS.
It is now too late to submit a Claim for unaffordable lending. The last date was 14 February 2021.
The administrators have given the following statistics about claims:
- 169,000 customers made claims for unaffordable lending;
- 78,000 claims were upheld by the administrators;
- the upheld claims had a total value of £136million, so an average of about £1,700 per claim.
Still owe a balance on a QuickQuid or On Stride loan?
More than 300,000 of the current loans were sold to Lantern in summer 2021. You should have been informed if your loan was sold.
The administrators have now stopped collecting any money from the remaining unsold loans.

For those with no email yet, my funds have arrived in account and I never received any confirmation email, not in any junk, spam, bin or any other folder. Thanks to Sara and anyone else that was providing updates or information.
MR says
I Did not receive an e-mail. I bank with Lloyd’s, And there’s £3334 that has been paid from redress payment this morning :).
Chris says
Good and bad news for me… received an email from my old bank to say a payment was received and has been returned to casheuronet as my account in closed.
I had updated my account with them and received email confirmation in March, so will now need to phone them and will keep everyone posted how it pans out as others might be in the same position.
Chris says
Just to follow up on my earlier post I got though this morning and spoke to a lady that was trying to be helpful! Confirmed they hold my updated bank details and couldn’t understand why it had been paid to an old account! After a lot of back and forward asked me to email to claims@quickquid.co.uk and they would resolve. No idea on timescales and how it has happened although i suspect they may have two separate systems or have had the payment files ready in advance hence incorrect bank as I changed it in March. Will let you know once I have a response.
Colin Brown says
Just been paid the full amount guys
Lisa says
Received an email Monday evening, any Nationwide bank holders had their redress this morning?
Sara (Debt Camel) says
many have but not all
Lisa says
Thank you, just have to be a little more patient 😅
Lisa says
Hi Sara,
I’ve had the same bank for over 20 years, but got married 4 years ago. So my name has changed, will that be a problem with the redress? Currently on hold with QQ but just thought I’d ask the question.
Thanks.
Sara (Debt Camel) says
I don’t think so but worth checking
Lesley says
Hi Lisa, did they validate your bank account? I had to send id sue to name change since loan was take out
Lisa says
I’ve just spoken to someone at QQ, they couldn’t verify my bank so have issued a check, luckily the address they have is a family address but the cheque is is my maiden name 😅 just contacting my bank now to see if I can cash it. If not will have to email all the documents and they will issue a new one. Might be a little while before I get my cash but at least I know it’s on the way.
Lisa says
Does anyone have the correct claims email to send documents to? The one I was given over the phone has bounced back.
claims@casheuronetuk.co.uk
Has anyone got a different one?
Julie says
I was in the same boat as you. Same bank account but changed name through marriage but my money has gone in the bank fine
Deb says
Hi Lisa
My name has changed since and I received my payment into my bank this morning no problem at all
FrankieTheSkin says
They don’t use your name to send it, just your account details, your name is for them to identify you when they check who they’ve sent it to on their own bank statement, it will have no impact on the transfer itself, your bank only needs account number and sort code.
Lisa says
I’ve been in the phone to both my bank and QQ, the cheque has been issued in my maiden name. They couldn’t verify me. So when I receive the cheque I have to call back and get a new one sent. Could be a while. But I’ve sent across the documents to support the name change. I’m hoping they will do a back transfer but we shall see. Not sure why some went through with wrong names and mine didn’t but tbh I’m usually unlucky lol. Hopeful for a good outcome as the ladies I’ve spoken to today at QQ have been fantastic.
Barockie says
I had the same issue. Got married recently. Name changed, account the same. My money was in my Barclays account today. I had called yesterday to ask if it will be an issue, and the advisor said it depends on my bank. This has been such a nice surprise, I’d completely forgotten about all this.
Louise says
Yes I have
Nicola says
Hi I am with Nationwide and have had nothing as yet, I am not even sure what bank I would have used when I took this out? Is there any way I can check this?

Happy story to share, as result of Sara and this community.
As Sara suggested, whilst waiting for QQ I sent her template letter to Marbles. I woke up this morning to find my redress payment in my account. When I then went pay off my credit cards I saw that Marbles have processed my complaint and credited my closed account with £1900. I now owe them £500. After all this I will be debt free within the next 5 months!
Sincere thanks to you Sara, and to the whole DC community. I hope you all receive your redress very, very soon.

Money cleared and available in the bank this morning!!! Would like to say that i did not receive the email on Monday, Tuesday or yesterday, could not get through via phone and hadn’t heard back from an email I sent to them on Monday, so was getting a bit annoyed & anxious as to whether I would even be receiving the refund, but to anyone who has not received their refund today & like me did not know whether it would happen, just be patient and you will definitely receive it, Keep the faith!! Great start to the Bank Holiday Weekend 👍😃

I received a redress payment from casheuronet this morning, but have had no email. My claim was accepted in September 2020 and apart from administrator updates, this is the first news I’ve seen, so this is a big surprise.
Lenny says
I’d forgotten all about redress schemes I’d applied for as they usually only pay out a few quid. Several hundred this morning was a very nice surprise indeed 😊
Ian says
Same! Think I got £38 from The Money Shop. Few hundred this time :)
Kimmie says
Hi all,
I rang 8am this morning and was on hold for just over 40 minutes and got through to a nice customer service representative.
I just wanted to check my bank details were correct and they are. I have not received payment yet but the representative said it is because there are so many payments going through and just keep checking. If payment is not received in 2 weeks from the email we received about payment, then to call them back.
Basically just need to be patient :)
Ian says
Apologies, I’m with NatWest!
Luke says
Same ! I didn’t get any email but the money is in the account now.
The wait is over.

I was on hold for an hour this morning to them after no payment even though I was in first batch of emails on Monday…finally get through lady extremely rude kept talking over me and refused to confirm if my bank details or name etc are correct also refused to confirm if there is a problem and I’m one of the ones being issued a cheque. She then put me on hold mid sentence and I’ve been holding ever since…I’ve lost all faith in this company so upset I just want an update from them to st least confirm my details are correct or why payment isn’t made or me yet! If anyone else has any luck talking to them please let me know
Nikki says

Sara (Debt Camel) says
For anyone – I am suggesting any donations to your local Citizens Advice or food bank would be welcome.
Julia says
I received mine in the early hours of this morning. I’m with Nat West. I hope yours all come soon too. It’s about time these lenders got their just deserts to be honest. They get you at your lowest and continue to beat you down. Now the little man or woman won!
Lenny says
On this occasion. Unfortunately most redress schemes pay less than 10p in the £.
Still, it’s nice to get a substantial amount from at least one of them.
Gary says
Mine landed in bank this morning, very happy with end result, nice little sum which will come in very handy
Paul says
Money in this morning, hope the rest of you get sorted soon, came in at just the right time too.

Just want to add a very important message for Sara. Well done on doing a fantastic job on here. When so much frustration was going around I personally think you did an awesome job in monitoring posts and making sure people were not led down a garden path and people kept their heads.
It must have been so much work for you to manage all those post.
Thank you so much you are a star.
Sara (Debt Camel) says
Thanks, a small donation to your local Citzens Advice or foodbank would be lovely.

Thanks Sara for everything you’ve done for people like me. Thanks to you and all the information you’ve provided here. Since I found this website I’ve managed to turn my life around completely. I received £642 in my bank account this morning which I had to Google where it was from ( because I forgot all about making the claim, payment was called casheuronet redress).

Got mine this morning, was a pleasant surprise:)
Gemma says
Hi. I had a redress company put in a claim with quick quid for me and it was agreed by quick quid and told how much I would be paid. A week or 2 later, before actually receiving payment, Quick Quid went into administration. The redress company sent an email to me a while later saying that due to the news on quick quid, they will no longer be dealing with claims towards them as the compensation will be so small to those owed and if you would like to stop receiving emails then reply stating that. I was then emailed by the administrators of Quick Quid saying they think I have a claim so did what they asked and got back a claim figure 3 times the amount previously agreed. I now have that money in my account but I don’t know where I stand with the redress company. Will they at some point try to claim their fees from me?
Sara (Debt Camel) says
I don’t think they should. And I think they told the administrators to pay you direct because of this.
Paul says
I also had a Claim Company chasing compensation just before QQ went bust.
About 18 months ago I got an email from the Claim Company saying that QQ had asked me to supply the bank details I wanted the claim paid into. So I let them know and have not heard from the Claim Company since.
I was worried when I heard QQ would pay the Claim Company directly as I envisaged then having to wait 28 days for a cheque from the Claim Company – but the cash has in fact been directly paid to me.
I’m expecting a prompt invoice from the Claim Company – but I don’t know if it is correct that they should now get a cut in this case.
I’ll wait and see what the general advice is about this.
Steve says
Sarah can complaints be made against 118118 money for a credit card that they gave me that charges a monthly fee?
Sara (Debt Camel) says

Hi all, I just wanted to say thank you to Sara for all her help and advice.
I received my email on Monday from Quick Quid and have received my payment from them this morning. I’m sure it won’t be long before you all receive yours as well.

I got paid today onwards and upwards from today I’m so happy 😁 thanks all involved and hope everyone is lucky 👍👏 ✌️
Darren Brown says
Got my email at 17:15 on Monday however no money yet (Halifax), have repeatedly tried ringing without success (on hold for nearly 2 hours on Tuesday) sent an email as well trying to confirm which account they have on file. Trying not to panic and just be patient, if and when it does come through I will make a donation to my local foodbank and CAB as per Sara’s request.
Sam says
Hey. I called this morning as I rec’d an email at the same time on Monday and they told me that they couldn’t verify my bank details so payment will be made via cheque. No idea how long this will take to reach me though! So you may be getting a cheque! x
Darren Brown says
Finally got through on the phone, they did not have my bank details and had my address from 8 years ago! I clearly updated both of these at the time of the claim which is quite worrying. They had sent a cheque to my old address, this has now been cancelled and a new one will have to be issued. God knows how long that will take.
Patti says
Received my email Monday and payment just after midnight. I bank with Barclays.
Thank you so much Sara for answering numerous questions across a couple of the threads I’ve posted in over the years. You’ve helped me (and many others) no end and my credit score is looking so cleaner for it too! The work of an angel, truly
Genghis h says
Got email on 25th April 2022 and received my money to barckays bank on 28th April 2022 for £268.93. Email said this was against agreed claim value of £502.22.
This was years ago so I don’t remember much of at all. Am I right in saying this is the value of how much interest I paid rather then the while loan I received?
Sara (Debt Camel) says
yes only the interest paid is refunded.
Dean says
I got payment today but haven’t got any email yet…
Similar note, anyone heard from MyJar Administrator , latest update was if you get an email by 30th April you have qualified for redress, if you don’t get an email you have not and they will not accept any further comms or questions about the matter post 30th.
Dan says
Got my payment today!!! £345.45 richer and very very happy
Long time lurker keeping an eye on the situation, thanks to everyone who’s been keeping us updated
Jo says
I had an original claim accepted by QuickQuid / Pounds to Pocket on 27/08/2019 which was upheld for a total of £2345.97 which I accepted… but then a matter of days later they went into administration so this all fell through. I then received all communication from Grant Thornton regarding the Claims Portal and I followed the procedure to make a claim like everyone else. I have an email here in front of me now from CashEuroNet dated 11/08/20 entitled ‘We Received Your Claim’ and a Customer ID number and since then I’ve had all progress reports from CashEuroNet along the way with the administrator updates, etc, etc; basically like everyone else, I was just sat waiting!
As I noticed people were starting to get their confirmation emails over the last few weeks I realised that I hadn’t had one myself so I called CashEuroNet several times and they said they would escalate to a manager, but I’ve heard nothing. And now today as you are all receiving your refunds (well-done everyone) I called again… only to be told they have never received a claim from me!!! But yet I have the confirmation email here stating ‘We’ve Received Your Claim’ + a customer ID number! I am utterly speechless. This has again been submitted to a manager for escalation!
Is anyone else in this same situation? Any advice?
Thank You.
Dave says
I bank with the Halifax. I received no email at all but I have my correct payment today.
Teresa says
Have just contacted Customer Services as do not remember verifying my bank details. Very helpful lady confirmed amount and I will receive cheque in post, but no time frame. Has anyone else heard anything different? TBF I’m just really amazed to be getting anything as I’d forgotten about it as claimed on the cusp of them folding.
Gary says
Does anyone know what we do regarding credit file. my Onstride account had a default on it, will that be taken off or do I have to chase it up. Thanks in advance
Sara (Debt Camel) says
was that loan upheld as unaffordable?
Gary says
Yes it was part of my redress Sara
Sara (Debt Camel) says
then the administraors will either remove the default OR remove the whole loans OR remove all your loans. We don’t know yet what they are doing.
If this isn’t sorted then in 3-4 months (not now) you will be able to ask the credit reference agencies to “suppress” the loan so no one else can see it – see https://debtcamel.co.uk/correct-credit-records-lender-administration/
Gary says
Thanks Sara ;)
Paul M says
A bitter sweet moment for the vast majority of us, as payments have finally started to reach our bank accounts after what seems a life time of waiting.
But it also marks an end of needing to check this website daily for any news and opinions etc.
Sara, the advice you have given on here to everyone has been a pure 10 out of 10. I cannot thank you enough.
Thank you.

Has anyone received a cheque through the post yet?

Cheques are likely to be at the end of the queue, since they’ll have to be processed manually.
Cal says
No, nothing yet
Jamie says
I received my redress today, just over £2.5k and it went into the account details I provided and not to my old account which was a relief.
