Car finance lenders – email addresses for complaints

Car finance lenders and logbook loan lenders often don’t give an email address for complaints on their websites.

But you may not want to complain by phone – it’s not good for a detailed complaint and you may like to have a written record of what you have sent.

Also if the car finance has ended, you may not have access to the app or may find it hard to get through security.

The FCA rules say a lender has to let you complain by any reasonable means. Most car finance lenders have now listed a complaint email address on the FCA website.

Use a helpful email subject & identify yourself

For all of these emails, use a helpful subject title so your email gets to the right place, eg ” Affordability complaint” or “Car finance discretionary commission query”.

If the name on the email address doesn’t sound the same as the name of your car finance lender, also include the name of the car finance lender in the email subject.

Please include your name, date of birth, postcode, agreement number (if known) and vehicle registration number.

If you have moved since taking out the finance, include your current address and your previous address.
