I’ve had a little surprise in the post this morning. The ombudsman contacted me by email 2 weeks ago saying they weren’t going to uphold my claim. I had hardly any details about my loans and it would have been very difficult for them to pursue it without them. Was gutted but accepted it. This morning a cheque arrived directly from Provident. They’ve refunded me just over £2900 and are removing all adverse info from my credit file within 45 days. Thank you Sara for all your help! I’m so happy 😁

Happy Christmas Sara well more new year now but you get my drift . Your site has encouraged me to take control of my finances which have spiralled our of control through a combination of bad planning, lack of budgeting , ptsd and depression. I’m currently in process of setting up a DMP with stepchange, and hoping to be debt free in three years. I was really embarrassed about whole thing but realised needed to sort it out so thank you for your site.

That sounds like a good start to 2020 for you. I hope it goes well!
December 28, 2019 at 5:10 pm
Thank you I’m debating whether to put in unaffordable lending claims but obviously going to
Wait until DMP is established before that step.

Send ’em in now!
They won’t affect your DMP at all and it gets them started sooner.

Hi Sara, I just wanted to thank you for all of your hard work. This website is packed with so much information for anyone who needs advice on how to deal with their debts properly. Using the resources on Debt Camal, I have been able to pay off £18k of debt with refunds and a lot of sacrificing. I started this journey on 31/07/2018, when I sent off all of my complaint letters. 18 moths later… my finances are totally different. I no longer rely on predatory lending, and I have also managed to complete my DMP 7 years earlier (2026). I am also debt free – something I never thought would happen.
Have a happy New Year Sara
